5th Annual Teacher Research Conference

Join us for the 5th annual Teacher Research Conference will be held on Saturday June 18th 2016 from 9:00am to 1.30pm at the University of Sussex featuring a keynote address by Dr. Alison Fox, University of Leicester.

This annual conference enables teachers, school leaders and educationists to share original teacher research being conducted in local schools, colleges and other educational contexts and explore implications for practice. Themes include (but are not limited to): Assessment; Innovative practice in developing reading and talk; Supporting vulnerable groups: Inclusion and Widening Participation; Developing excellence in Science and Mathematics; and Building a school Research culture and community.

Keynote speaker Dr. Fox is the current Director of Studies for the School of Education. Some of her research projects include: 'Beginning teacher development and support' funded by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation; ‘Schools and Continuing Professional Development in England: the State of the Nation’ commissioned by the TDA; and ‘Learning how to learn in classrooms, schools and networks’ funded by the ESRC/TLRP/ Dr. Fox was originally a Science teacher in Secondary Schools and Further Education for 10 years and taught Science teachers on PGCE courses for six years.
